Documentary film project

Edited: Jul 26, 2017

I want to thank you for sharing my post in the forum !

My name is Lysandre Cosse and I am finishing a bachelor degree in film productions at UQÀM (University of Quebec in Montreal).

I am currently working on a documentary film project in Toronto including muslim LGBTQ+ individuals. My team and I started shooting this past June, but we are still looking for individuals to take part on the project. Therefore, I would like to arouse your interest for a collaboration.

As a young queer filmmaker, my statement and my inspirations are mainly focused on identity and inclusion. I feel that there is a need according to the visibility and inclusion of muslim LGBTQ + community worldwide and I want to highlight a human angle that documents the willingness of an individual to accede to his/her/their desire for identity emancipation.

I am looking for individuals who live in the Toronto/Montreal/Ottawa area that would be interested in being filmed as we follow them in their daily life, such as particular events or more. There will be filmed interviews as well.

I am aware of the particularity of my request. As a white cis male that is not directly related to Islam, I understand that my request can cause a problem or can be questionable. I want to assure you that my work will respect the rules of ethics and the standards of confidentiality according to your conveniance.

I invite you, if you wish, to join me by e-mail or phone to mention your interest, to discuss more about my intentions or to point me to people who could guide me.

Thank you for the attention to my request.

Lysandre Cosse

Hello everyone! The Rekai Centres Long Term Care Homes has embarked on an inclusivity journey, and as such is considering the possible creation of a dedicated 25 bed unit for the LGBTQ2SI+ Community. They are in the research phase of this project and are conducting a survey to collect input that will inform and guide their next steps. Please take 5 minutes to complete this survey! It is an exciting opportunity to help set the standard for LGBTQ2SI+ spaces and services in healthcare, which is especially relevant as the population is seeing an increase in aging. Every voice matters! Thank you!
